In 2015, Dr David Connor and Dr Edward Langford set out to raise the standards of care to patients, irrespective of injury, illness or location. Having initially focused on the event medical industry, Ed and David grew ECS to be one of the leading organisations for the delivery of enhanced and critical care and large-scale medical centres, working with some of the largest providers in the industry.
As COVID-19 hit, ECS diversified into ambulance operations and soon saw its vehicles multiply. Staying true to its ethos of quality and robust governance, ECS gained a number of NHS-commissioned contracts with the very focus that led to its foundation, raising the standard of care.
Since the COVID pandemic, ECS has once again levelled up, increasing its capabilities across people, fleet and equipment. Having moved three times, ECS launched a brand new, state-of-the-art headquarters in Nursling, Southampton in 2023. From here, ECS now delivers nationwide event medical cover of all sizes, provides a range of ambulance services across the country and continues to educate hundreds of outstanding medical professionals within its bespoke education and training centre.
Whilst 2025 has been a turbulent year for many across the health sector, ECS is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with new contracts, clients and new opportunities.
With the start of ECS’ tenure with the Wimbledon Championships, a truly exciting partnership with the London Ambulance Service, new courses being added to the training catalogue and new contracts across all of ambulance, events and education, 2025 and beyond is looking more exciting than ever.
If that wasn’t enough, soon, ECS will be applying its expertise in delivering excellent patient care backed by robust governance and incredible clinicians, to its brand new Clinical Hub and Urgent Treatment Centre. Opening in just a few weeks time, this facility will offer a range of services from doctor-led illness and injury management, to travel and vaccination clinics, wellbeing services, telemedicine and much much more.
Dr Edward Langford, Co-Founder and Managing Director, said: “Whether you have been part of #TeamECS, worked alongside us, been treated or trained by us, or have just followed our journey over the last 10 years, we are sincerely grateful to your support and encouragement. Achieving 10 years of business is not without its challenges, but the journey we continue to take remains as committed to our people and patients as ever before, and we can’t wait to open the next chapter.”
Dr David Connor, Co-Founder and Medical Director, adds: “Being able to bring cutting edge medicine and expertise to some of the most prestigious events nationally is an absolute privilege and we’re grateful to all the team for their unrelenting commitment to doing it right. We look forward to continuing to be one of the national leaders in event medicine and continuing to grow our education, ambulance and urgent care operations.”
