Course Description
We are excited to announce that Enhanced Care Services has been accredited as a trial centre for the newly developed Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) course.
The 1-day course is delivered face-to-face and aims to develop awareness of mental health issues specifically associated with young people, as well as the responsibilities of a Youth Mental Health First Aider and appropriate sources for onward referral.

Course Content
The YMFA course develops knowledge and skills relating to:
– Understanding mental health in young people
– The responsibilities of a Youth Mental Health First Aider
– A range of common mental health conditions in young people
– Stress and depression in young people
– How to use a mental health first aid action plan for young people
This course is delivered by qualified instructors with extensive pre hospital experience of Mental Health conditions working as Paramedics and Emergency Care Assistants.
Eligibility
The YMHFA course is appropriate for those over the age of 16 who have an interest in, and would like to raise awareness of, youth mental health. It is ideal for those who have contact with young people, such as parents, teachers and youth workers.
