Course Description
The RC(UK) e-Immediate Life Support (e-ILS) course is designed for those providing an initial response to the acutely deteriorating adult patient.
The course blends 0.5-day of e-learning, completed at your own pace prior to the course, followed by 0.5-day face-to-face practical learning, providing increased flexibility and reducing the need for time away from work.
Course Content
The e-ILS course develops knowledge and skills relating to:
– Identifying causes and promoting the prevention of adult cardiac arrest
– Recognising and providing initial treatment to the deteriorating patient using the A-E approach
– Undertaking the skills of quality CPR and defibrillation (manual and/ or AED) and simple airway manoeuvres
– Utilising non-technical skills to facilitate initial leadership and effective team membership
This course is delivered by Emergency Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics who all have extensive pre-hospital clinical experience.
Eligibility
The e-ILS course is appropriate for Doctors, Medical Students, Nurses, Nursing Student, Midwife, ODP, Cardiac Technician. Resuscitation Officer and other Healthcare Providers, as well as Dental Nurses, Dentist, Paramedics and Ambulance Technicians, Healthcare Assistants or Nursing Associates.
It may also be suitable for Fire Service Technicians, Police Personnel, Prison Officers and Cabin Crew
The e-ILS course is recognised for up to 5 Continual Professional Development (CPD) points.
