Course Description
The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (MHFAW) course is regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who would like to become a Mental Health First Aider in their workplace. Mental Health First Aiders play a vital role in reducing the stigma associated with mental health in the UK.
The 2-day course is delivered face-to-face and raises learner’s awareness of mental health, developing an understanding on how to support, reassure and signpost fellow colleagues to professional support
Course Content
The MHFAW course develops knowledge and skills relating to:
– The importance of understanding mental health and association within the workplace
– Roles and responsibilities of a Mental Health First Aider
– Learning how to actively listen to and support work colleagues
– Gaining insight to common mental health conditions
– Learning how to implement mental health first aid strategies in the workplace
– Understanding how employers can provide support to their employees
This course is delivered by qualified instructors with extensive pre hospital experience of Mental Health conditions working as Paramedics and Emergency Care Assistants.
Eligibility
The MHFAW course is appropriate for those over the age of 18, who have an interest in, and would like to raise awareness of mental health first aid within the work environment.
