Course Description
The Enhanced Care Services Essentials of Pre Hospital Ventilation course follows on from the teaching on the DAC where the clinical science of pre hospital ventilation and critical manual ventilation skills using the BVM is extensively explored, along with the general principles of mechanical ventilator use.
Simple and intermediate transport ventilators are a common fitment in UK Ambulances but utilisation is historically low due to a lack of initial and ongoing education in their clinical benefits and physical operation.
The 1-day course is delivered face-to-face and has been developed specifically to explore in depth the use of mechanical ventilators in the prehospital setting, including the theory and skills required to use mechanical ventilators to their full benefit.
