FREC Course Description

The Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (FREC 4) course is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed to support those who have completed the FREC 3 course and want to expand their knowledge and skills relating to medical and trauma presentations.

This 5-day course forms part of a progressive suite of pre hospital care qualifications and allows learners to develop an intermediate level of pre hospital care knowledge and widen their scope of practice, allowing them to deal with a range of pre hospital care situations along with career progression in the prehospital setting.

Course Content

The FREC 4 course develops knowledge and skills relating to:

– Pre Hospital Care Emergencies – Medical and Trauma

– Major Incidents

– Fracture Immobilisation

– Sick and Injured Paediatrics

– Mental Health Issues

This course is delivered by qualified instructors with extensive pre hospital experience working as Paramedics and Emergency Care Assistants.

Eligibility

The FREC 4 course is designed to assist those wanting to progress their career in the prehospital environment. It is also ideal for those working in specialist roles such as military, police and fire services wanting to expand their knowledge and skills relating to assessing and managing both medical and trauma related presentations.

Learner’s must provide an accurate CPD profile evidencing 118 hours of study and/ or contextualised practice reflecting their continual professional development of skills and knowledge associated with their role prior to attending.
