CPRR Course Description

The Child Protection: Recognition & Response (CPRR) course is a nationally recognised Level 3 safeguarding course, providing gold standard child protection training for clinicians. It will aid in developing skills in recognising child abuse and/ or neglect and safeguarding children, and how to respond in a confident and competent manner.

This course blends 1-day of e-learning, completed at your own pace prior to the course, followed by 1-day of face-to-face practical learning, providing increased flexibility and reducing the need for time away from work.

 

Course Content

The CPRR course develops knowledge and skills relating to:

– Recognising signs and symptoms relating to abuse and/ or neglect in children of all ages

– Responding competently and confidently, knowing what knowledge and skills are needed to recognise child abuse

– How to make a referral to the relevant agency or professional group

– Understanding the importance of following up on a referral in relation to the health and developmental outcome for the child

 

This course is delivered by experienced Paediatric specialists and local experts from other professions e.g. social work/police.

Eligibility

The CPRR course is aimed primarily at Core Trainees (ST1-3) in Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine & General Practice. Places dependent, it is also open to Specialty Trainees, ACP’s and Senior Nurses subject to approval.

Candidates should also have had some practical safeguarding experience within the NHS.
